I’ve moved to Bear, it encompasses a fine balance of the features I outlined in the article and supports a great pattern of usability which is very compatible with my workflow. The syncronisation between my devices (iOS, iPadOS, MacOS) is fantastic at a very reasonable price.

I did try Notion, and while I could see it being a great tool for a team of people with a common goal, not my cup of tea. I do see that it has become free for personal use so I may test-drive it again soon.
